The Imperial County Sheriff's Office (ICSO) has received a grant to support the Child Passenger Safety Seat Program.
The $38,500 grant is from the California Office of Traffic Safety. The Child Safety seat program promotes best practice strategies that will be conducted to reduce the number of persons killed or injured in crashes involving children under the age of 8 years. The strategies include education, child safety seat checkups, community events, presentations, providing educational materials and even the distribution of child safety seats.
Imperial County Sheriff Fred Miramontes said, " We are excited to receive this grant, which will allow us to significantly develop and enhance our Child Passenger Safety Program. By focusing on education, awareness, and promoting safe practices, we aim to reduce crashes and prevent injuries".
