(56 year old suffers fatal injuries)....It happened February 15.

The California Highway Patrol says the man was driving a 2005 Sand Rail in the Glamis Off Highway Recreational Area. He was traveling in a south easterly direction at an unknown rate of speed. The CHP says for reasons still under investigation, the victim crashed into another Sand Rail, inflicting fatal injuries. The 56 year old was pronounced at the scene. The County Coroner's Office has not released the identity of the victim. The Highway patrol says the 62 year old driver of the second Sand Rail suffered major injuries and was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center. A 12 year old female passenger in the second Sand Rail suffered minor injuries. The Highway Patrol says all parties involved were restrained at the time of the crash.
