The $70,000 grant is for Brawley's Traffic Enforcement Program to increase Safety on the roadways. The Brawley Police Department says they receive the grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety to support their ongoing enforcement and education programs to help reduce the number of serious injuries and deaths on the roads. Funds will help pay for DUI Checkpoints and Patrols, Provide high visibility to reduce distracted driving, Enforcement operations, Community presentations Collaborative enforcement efforts, officer training and more. The grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety is through funding provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
