A pedestrian suffered fatal injuries after being struck by a vehicle Friday morning.

The accident occurred at about 10:30 a.m. in the area of S. Avenue 36E at the westbound Interstate 8 exit ramp. Initial investigation by the Yuma County Sheriff's Office indicates the victim was struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
