(A severe flu outbreak has been predicted for some time)....Those predictions have come to fruition.
El Centro Regional Medical Center and Pioneers Memorial Hospital both report high numbers of influenza. There are reports the beds are full at both hospitals. One Doctor says there are three main strains of influenza currently circulating in the community. They are influenza A, B, and H1N1. They say the numbers are the highest they have been since 2019. The CDC says high numbers are being reported across the country, not just in Imperial County. Flu Vaccines are recommended, but keep in mind the vaccine takes about two weeks to kick in. If symptoms are present, it is recommended you stay hydrated, take vitamin C, D3 and zinc to prepare the immune system to fight the virus. If fever reaches 102 or higher seek medical attention.
