The Imperial Irrigation District points out this action waas for new facilities and does not affect existing geothermal facilities. Despite the action by Black Rock, the IID says they remain dedicated to advancing renewable energy in the region. IID's service territory supports the existing interconnection of over 750 MW of geothermal energy and 700 MW of solar and storage capacity., with additional projects actively progressing through the interconnection process. Gina Dockstader, Chairwoman of the IID Board off Directors, says the Imperial Irrigation District is committed to supporting renewable energy and collaborating with developers to overcome challenges. She said the district remains ready to assist Black Rock and others in identifying viable paths forward.
