The California Highway Patrol is investigating a traffic accident that occurred early Wednesday morning.
A pick up truck and an SUV collided at the intersection of Heber and Anderholt Roads at about 6:00 a.m. According to initial information, the pick up was northbound on Anderholt Road and ran into the path of the SUV that was eastbound on Heber Road. The driver of the pick up truck, a 52-year-old woman, who apparently was unrestrained, sustained major injuries and was flown by Mercy Air to Desert Regional Medical Center. The 47-year-old man driving the SUV was wearing his seat belt. He was transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
