The California Mid-Winter Fair has released information about the 2025 event.
This was the first year with expanded dates with 13 days of activity, including three weekends. Weather had an affect on attendance and spending with 5 days of decent weather and 8 breezy to windy days. With the extra 3 days, paid admissions were up 20 percent. Daily average attendance was almost identical to the 2024 fair. Food concessions were up 11 percent but, daily average was down from the previous year. By the way, BBQ Village and Spiral Fries were the top concession stands. Total sales for the carnival were up 5 percent but daily average was down 25 percent due to weather issues.
There were 2,273 livestock exhibits. 687 animals were sold at auction. Auction numbers totaled $2.6 million. $125 was the highest price per pound for an animal, a market lamb. One animal, a swine, sold for $26,200.
There were 512 adult exhibits judged and displayed in the Plaza Building and 1,430 youth exhibits judged and displayed in the Inspiration Gallery.
