Calexico Police have taken action against unlicensed taxis in the border city.

Known as "Raitero" operators, these are individuals transporting passengers for hire without a taxi license or proper insurance. Calexico officers conducted an operation targeting this activity and made three arrests and towed two vehicles. According to police, the enforcement action was prompted by numerous complaints from merchants and residents.
