The Imperial County Sheriff's Office will conduct a Driving Under the Influence Checkpoint.
The checkpoint will be in operation starting at 8:00 p.m tonight on Dogwood Road north of McCabe Road. The primary purpose of the DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking impaired drivers off the roads. The Sheriff's Office reminds drivers that impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Some prescription medications and over the counter drugs may interfere with driving. Recreational and medicinal marijuana may be legal but, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.
